3D Hubs Student Grant 2017

Starting today, we’re accepting applications from students around the world for the 3D Hubs Student Grant 2017. We’re looking for inventors, problem solvers and creative talents in STEAM subjects that push the boundaries of 3D printing.

The Grant is offered in three fields; engineering, product design and architecture, to students that can showcase the Best Use of 3D Printing in the specified academic fields. The three successful applicants will receive:

  • $500 cash
  • An honourable mention from Brian Garret (3D Hubs co-founder) on Linkedin
  • A professional photoshoot of their project for their portfolio

Brian Garret (3D Hubs co-founder) explains the importance of students and supporting STEAM education; “Students are the engineers and designers of the future. With this Grant, as well as our existing student program providing 25% off, we aim to give students a strong foundation in digital manufacturing early on to give them a competitive edge in their future careers.”

Great examples of 3D printing done by students are Eindhoven’s Mark Thielen who’s creating a new future of medical training, Delft’s Jonas Holtermann driving innovation for formula student, or the team from the University of Colorado Boulder making new ways for blind children to read.

For more inspiration on student projects, follow our Instagram. Throughout the months of April, May and June we’ll be showcasing the best submissions.

Students can apply on this page; 3D Hubs Student Grant 2017. Applications close on June 30th, and awardees will be announced on July 15th.
